The Pfaff Quilt Expression 2048 also offers the greatest ease of operation. In addition to the four expanded function buttons, it has a very special feature: the program selection wheel!

Skim quickly through the stitch programs by rotating the wheel. Letters and combinations of numbers can be called up easily. You can even store words in up to six memory locations, sew each one in a single pass and sew them again, any time you want.

"Needle up / down" button, when sewing stops the needle remains in the fabric, indispensable for precise sewing and pivoting.
"Tie off" button, at the beginning and end of a seam you can automatically tie off the thread ends.
"Sew Slow" button, for particularly tricky sewing projects, reduce the sewing speed for greater control.
"Pattern mirroring" button, easily mirror decorative stitch patterns for a unique look.

اولین چرخ خیاطی بوسیله چه کسی ساخته شد؟

اولين چرخ خياطي ساخته شخصي به نامتاميس سنت انگليسي است . وي ماشيني در سال 1790 به ثبت رسانيد كه كارش بسيار شبيه به دوخت زنجيره اي زمان ما بود . البته هدف از ساخت اين ماشين بيشتر دوختن چيزهاي چرمي بود . اما هرگز اين وسيله مورد استفاده قرار نگرفت و مخترع اين اثر از اختراع خود سودي نبرد . تا اينكه در سال 1830 يك خياط فرانسوي فقير كه بارتلمي تيمونيه نام داشت موفق شد با ذوق و ابتكار خلاقانه خود چرخ خياطي را بسازد كه بسيار شبيه چرخهاي خياطي امروزي بود . بعدها اين وسيله در فرانسه مورد استقبال مردم قرار گرفت ولي گروهي از كارگران كه وجود اين اختراع را باعث كسادي كار خود مي ديدند شبانه به كارگاه بارتلمي حمله كرده و همه چرخهاي خياطي او را نابود كردند و بارتلمي از غصه و فقر جان خود را از دست داد . همزمان با اين اتفاق مرد ديگري در نيويورك بنام والترهنت چرخ خياطي ديگري را ساخت . اين چرخ داراي سوزني بود كه همانند سوزنهاي امروزي چرخ خياطي سوراخي كوچك در نوك خود داشت كار اين سوزن ، زدن كوكهاي رُز(1)بود . يعني با نخ حلقه اي ميان پارچه مي زد و سپس حلقه ديگري آمده در حلقه اول مانند زنجير قفل مي شد . با همه اينها هنت هرگز موفق نشد كه اين اختراع خود را به ثبت برساند . تا روزگاري كه افتخار ثبت نخستين چرخ خياطي نصيب الياس هاو شد . همچنين آيزك سينگر نيز يك چرخ خياطي را در كشور آمريكا به ثبت رسانيد .

آنگاه دعواي مفصلي بين سينگر و الياس هاو بر سر اين موضوع كه حق تقدم با چه كسي است درگرفت . سرانجام هاو توانست در اين نزاع پيروز از ميدان بيرون رفته و از هر چرخ خياطي كه به بازار مي آمد حق امتياز به سود خود دريافت نمايد .

(1) كوك هاي رُز كوك هايي است كه با چندبار پيچيدن نخ دور سوزن ايجاد مي شود و به شكل گلبرگ هاي رُز روي پارچه قرار مي گيرد.
